"Chronicles of Agbo Malu" a slum village in Nigeria a film documentary on human poverty.Produced and directed by Ayotunde

CDTOMUSIC1 "this brother is kool but get ready for idiots who will diss him over his accent, his eyes anything to pull the broda down, their brother.
Contact me i wanna work for this guy in europe"

viasafe "is accent is fake. that's my issue with him"

viasafe "I know about patois/Pidgin. I'm not talking about dialect I'm talking about accent. A naija man who speaks english in naija has a different accent than a oyibo man from england speaking english. accents are different"

Junior1luv "Agbo malo is wellllllllllllllll rough yo.
me a tell you!!!!chale".

Taiwo Lawrence
"Not to be negative, jamaica's population is only 2.5Mil, yet their language and music is world wide...I cannot get over Nigerians trying to sound like Rastas!"

Ken Payne
"Agree. It's better to promote originals, rather than hang on the shirttails of others".

Ade Alafia
"We need to respect and appreciate OURSELVES first, as Nigerians, and as Africans. All acheivements are acheived through the perception of self and other doctrines, actions or deeds attached to SELF...Note to self and all the other individuals out there..BE AN INDIVIDUAL BUT THINK AS A COLLECTIVE!!!!".

Patricia Ogundero
"I think we need to wake up to the needs of Africans. It's so sad that we had a good education and have enriched the west at the detriment of our beautiful continent; Left it to ignorant thugs that have become extremely dangerous monsters. They might have the power but they are not intelligent otherwise they would have recognized the greatness in seizing their opportunities to make the nations great not their pockets... so sad to see these young talented people living by the gutter...".

Obonjo Comedian
"i love the concept keep it up"

Christopher Smart Osaigbovo
"I really don't have any problem with any Nigerian trying to sing regae/raga (thats just me). I still consider regae music as African music. According to history, we are all Africans (let not forget our root). These boys gat talent and I respect them for that. The only problem I have with this so called "Agbo Malu" of a guy is that he should have ... See morespent the money he wasted on beer and ganja to buy a plate of rice (lol). I must agree with him on the situation of Nigeria (Really disturbing). I love my Country 9ja but I don tire too for our leaders for teaching my people how to suffer and smile".

Lawal Abdullahi
"Where you get this kind video from and where be this?".

Chinonso Kingsley Anajemba
"God help my country...".

Fayth Daramola
"Original. Original...yes! What image is this projecting to the world? Yes undiluted talent, what about the other "weed" embeded striken looking felas?.....uuhm...o ga o...".

mozillafirefox87 "u sound more jamaican? dancehall then naija u good tho"

red1mcr "ohhh ummm u sound lyke a Jamaican breddrn....ohh well u guud keep doin yea ting"

murd101 "Over population".

mikysurf09 " beatiful voice".

Taiwo Lawrence
"Singing in English is totally different from speaking in another language..English is our national language, he can sing in any language he wants, but the entire interview was done in Jamaican patoua and not in broken"

Olusola Toluwalope
"@Anajemba: God will not come down to help us in dis country i guess we need to change the direction of our prayers. if will as a nigeria do not help ourselve, hw can young boys and girls, that got gift leave is a place like this(Agbo malu) is a shame to our govt. dis really show the level of provety in our great nation. My great uncle said it all surffering and smiling".

Joseph Ademola Adeyemo
"Rough Confidence" is a "Diamond in the Rough".

Ohiseme Bunmi-Zion Oz
"@Juju Films, personally, I don't like Africans who masquerade as Jamacians or people from the Carribean (one sees this alot on the streets of Peckham and South East London) but I will like to point out that if an average Jamacian listened to the guy in the video he would not understand him. The reason is the language he speaks is not different from the Nigerian Pidgin. With words like kolo, tire, wahala etc and a mixture of English words you and I understand him. I think we should zoom in on the message and not the mode of expression which I think is now a generally accepted thing in Nigeria. Daddy Showkey, Baba Fryo, Africa China etc all sing in 'pidgin' although I suspect they may be able to sing in the Jamacian patois to some extent which they know won't sell records.

In the hoods like Agbo Malu, you don't expect the residents to have records of Beethoven, Jazz classics or country. Before the somewhat revival of the Nigerian music scene the type of music they listened to are the Jamacian artists which who inspired the likes of Showkey and Oritshe Femi.

Talking about originality, like the Holy Bible says 'there is nothing new under the sun'. The Nigerian artists who express their talent by using rap, acts like Naeto C, MI, Mode 9 can all be accused of not being original. Well one can argue that they express themselves in our national language, English but you can trace American English in their diction and pronunciation. When we, Nigerians specifically in the UK, try to speak our best of English, naturally the English non-Nigerians will understand, we tend to resort to American English. American English that we hear everyday in Nigeria on TV screens i.e music, dramas, movies e.t.c. We all are not original then if we cannot at all times speak the Nigerian English i.e English peppered with the various accents from our local languages. 9ice emerged on the scene and everyone screamed originality personified and then comes Isolate, who does what 9ice did i.e mixing pidgin and Yoruba idioms and what did he get. 9ice made a song called Photocopy claiming a patent for 'his' style which to me is funny. ... See more
If you disagree with the originality bit you'd at least agree that these people have made us happy over the years. The likes of The Mandators, Oritz Wiliki, the great Ras Kimono and the legend Majek Fashek have gave us beautiful music in the years past.

Good job well done Juju.

@ Taiwo Lawrence, Rastafarianism is a religion so if the artist says he is one, then why won't you believe him".

Michael Nwabueze
"This is typical example of the Nigerian not ready to work and earn a decent living. If he has the chance too, he will steal from naija's purse".

Patricia Ogundero
"OMG! I didn't know that was you. I thought the logo looked familliar but couldn't place it, really pleased 2 see this! Great job u're doing, thnx 4 showing these guys... Breaks my heart 2 see our talents wallowing in poverty...keep up the good work! love 2 fam".

Bayor Adeniyi
"Hmm I didn't feel the I don tire for Naija bit but the chant after is ok. I'd like to hear it with background rhythm. Rythym is everything. He actually talked about when he was young he bought rice for 2 naira! He looks a bit young to have bought rice for 2 naira as that would have had to be early eighties if my memory is right.
Creativity is there though. I guess with time they may have something real but I think they still have a long way to go. As for Patois, this is absolutely not it!! lol"

Bayor Adeniyi
"And what dat tin him hol in him hiand??.
Everybody don done, obviously, lol. Hey was that a woman at the tail end?? He wearing a bra!"

Eme Awa
"How interesting Fada. @Juju films, there obviously is no shortage of commentary from my fellow Nigerians. But what can you have against a guy who sings/speaks in more than one dialect of pidgeon/patua english? I don't understand it. Rough confidence has put a lot of time into his words,he makes sense. He is a window into a life that most of us don'... See moret experience. I commend him for his thoughtful lyrics, his delivery, his composition is impeccable and he has SOUL! But the most impressive thing is that he speaks the truth. All you people putting him down b/c of his 'weeded' look etc, just because nobody follow you with camera to catch when you're in the middle of your addiction don't mean you should rag on the fella when he is in the midst of his crew. This is true art! Anywhere else he would be a Mos Def, Nas, Common, Buju etc".

Bayor Adeniyi
"Hey bro. Don't miss the point please. No one can argue with his talent and part of his lyrics and that's why I feel with some time he will get it right. I didn't read anyone talk about his look though. Stuff posted on facebook is accessible to millions and I think presentation is crucial in terms of content.

I'm hoping you feeling me. Respect to ... See morepioneers is typicala to virtually every music on the street except for rap (lol). Negative criticism is all part of the process. I would examine and adapt where necessary.

Like I said rhythm is everything. With really solid backing music you would not recognize this track and I could do some samples for free to prove my point".

Eme Awa
"Bro Bayor, nuff respect!".

Ade Alafia
"blessings for trueness & recognition. We are here to lead the pack and follow a concept of respect and leadership. we can also learn a lot from the thinking of the youth and encourage thier innocence despite the battles of life...overcoming is key to our overall growth as people. Respect for all who have taken upon themselves to educate and embrace all".

Fayth Daramola
"Image goes more than showing the true picture. There are many other ways to say the truth. How many times have you seen American ghetos on movies/documentaries? I was somewhere in Chicago some months ago, Agbo malu will shrink in comparison! East Cleveland has worst scenarios and many other ghetos in some American cities but they sensor all the ... See morepublicities for whatever it worths. US president, Obama confesses that he had at one time smoked weed, President Clinton confessed that he had only whiffed it once on peer demands. No doubt those guys are bunch of talents and so the only good we can do them is to strategically position them for the skies. Talent is one, gheto is another, definately not the two as that is not the true image Nigeria will want to be identified with! The issue is the content posted to the world view. Ghetos abound everywhere and that explains why there is that word in the English dictionary but for the love of God, let's wash our "dirty linen" in within as it is only within that we can fix the dirts. No one will come from outside to fix Nigerian peculiar problem(s) but Nigerians themselves. I think the author is missing the point in trying to intertwine talent and image in Agbo Malu".

Olumide Onigbogi
"oshe bro'!!!!".

Ka Chi
"Well, reggae is a style of music that anyone can choose to play regardless of nationality. To be really good, one must embrace the culture behind the music. This guy does just that. It may be a little much but I'm okay with it, especially since reggae is music of a sister culture. Besides we see him right there in the ghettos of Lagos and he's ... See moretalking about experiences that are unique to his immediate environment, people, and culture. So, there is a good dose of authenticity here. My only objection.... I wish he would'nt do the accent when he's talking as well".

Tosin Musik
"I don't think we need to lament on this appalling environmental condition, not because i don't care. But even if the Nigrian government is doing 100 and 10 percent to ensure prosperity for all, there will still, and will always, be some "left-behind" and some ghettos around us. And that applies to any society in the world today. Some people don't ... See morebelieve that there are beggars in the U.S. until they see for themselves. And some people do not think that some parts of New York are more rat-infested than Ikeja. Just count your blessings and thank your destiny
Shikena!".

Taiwo Lawrence
"I believe we all have our own opinion..some speak with English or American accents others with both, however eyebrows are often raised when one who has never left the shores adapts either. my observation is simple, his message is clear, the accent is a distraction to me, just because I am a Rasta does not mean I have to sound Jamaican. It is ironic... See more that I know a Jamaican Rasta, who would give anything to sound African..To each his own..I think Mr Ukeje gets my point..The message, though deep is lost in the accent to me".

Oluko Diallo
"Interesting dialogue...it appears that many people in the diaspora are trying to find a common bond, some way and some how through language, mannerisms, hair, or even a dap of the fist. On many levels, it seems that JA and other Caribbean nations continue to be the common location for that bond.Afterall, it was the in- between location for the ... See moreenslavement of Africans. Most African Americans can relate to the culture of JA and most Afriicans from the continent can relate to JA. Due to absentee landlordism, JA's/Caribbeans were able to maintain much of the culture of Africa. Ok...they are drinking, Ok...they are burning herb...these are ills that we find throughout the diaspora. But, is censorship the answer?? I think not...this video brings me back to a focus point. I still have work to do...."

Eme Awa
"Very well said Oluko. I think you really nailed it. Yes, what this video says is that we all have work to do. If you're have something to say no matter how it is said we must keep the dialogue going. Otherwise 'we don don'".

Dayo Oyefuga
"OyefugaSh*t, I can't believe I just read all 38 comments on this innocent guy. I need something better to do..."I don don".

Ijeoma Ude
"I think I have other ideas for this guy. I think I 've fallen in love with him, I think I will bring him over to the states and give him green card so he can better his life, I think I can make him a happy man, I think... I will hold my peace because am sure as soon as he gets here, He 'll leave me afterall he is a naija man...lol".

Tosin Musik
"@ Ijeoma. Very funny".

Wale Ojo
"this guy is wicked! Put his lyrics behind a good beat and he will bring down da house from mushin to kingston! Lets look on the positive side ppl..and as for that lady with the chipped tooth at the end..scary!".

Bayo Bello
"wonderful comments people...personally i like the guy with his raw talent and delivery....saaaaample, the sister was very funny...and for the brother and his herb, smoke on..."
